Beautifully converted from a historic stone steading, Drum Lodge provides luxurious accommodation for larger groups or families in the heart of Dorback Estate. The lodge is arranged around a central courtyard, designed to flood the interior with natural light. A harmonious mix of spacious open-plan areas and cosy, intimate rooms ensures the perfect setting for any occasion. Open fires and wood-burning stoves add warmth throughout the predominantly ground-floor layout.

Each of the five main bedrooms situated on the ground floor are spacious and elegantly furnished with antique pieces, featuring floor-to-ceiling picture windows that showcase scenic views. Three bedrooms are ensuite, and bathrooms are luxuriously designed with marble accents. In addition, two charming attic rooms offer five single beds, ideal for kids or guests seeking a quiet corner of their own. For added relaxation, the lodge offers an indoor sauna, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the estate.

Perched above Dorback Burn, the lodge offers spectacular views of the surrounding woodland and distant mountains, while its extensive gardens, complete with a pond, provide a serene outdoor retreat.

Key Features

Drum Lodge comfortably sleeps up to 15 guests across seven bedrooms. A few steps down from the main living area on the ground floor, you’ll find five bedrooms, three of which have stylish double sink en-suites. Two of the rooms on this floor offer floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the duck pond, a peaceful view to wake up to.
A large family bathroom with bath, separate shower, and double sinks provides additional space for guests.

Upstairs, you’ll find a fun chill-out zone with TV and play space, perfect for younger guests along with two unique bedrooms, one with three custom-built cabin beds and en-suite and the other with two cabin beds and en-suite. While the space is designed with younger guests in mind, the custom-built beds are full-sized singles and can fit adults as well.

Fae Bothy: Enjoy a spectacular stroll to our hillside bothy. Choose between either a starlit night walk followed by a sumptuous dinner by a roaring fire, or an early morning to see the sunrise followed by a hearty breakfast – all while surrounded by the most breath-taking landscape.

Champagne Picnic Gorge Walk: Embark on a guided nature walk to a breath taking hidden gorge surrounded by rolling heather moorland and rich wildlife as you make your way to this secluded natural wonder. Upon arrival, settle into a scenic spot where a luxury hamper awaits , filled with locally sourced delicacies and a chilled bottle of champagne to toast the moment.
